Miodrag Zlatic is a professor at Faculty of Forestry of University of Belgrade in Serbia, focused on erosion control economics/watershed management economics, sustainable natural resources management, natural resources policy and basis of environmental protection.
He was coordinator of regional programme “Community Based Rehabilitation of Degraded Land in Balkan Countries, medium sized project financed in preparations by GEF, and coordinator of World Overview of Conservation Approaches and Technologies – (WOCAT) for Serbia since 2001. All together he published more than 130 papers. As Editor-in-Chief, his books including Global Change – Challenges for Soil Management and Challenges: Sustainable Land Management – Climate Change, which were published by German’s publisher Catena Verlag, have had a wide impact over the world.
He was the president of the World Association of Soil and Water Conservation (WASWC) for the period of 2007-2010, and the councilor of the International Research and Training Center on Erosion and Sedimentation (IRTCES) for the period of 2021-2026.
